Find four hidden places within England:

  1. A man who claimed to be the heir,
    Lost his case and had no share.
    The living born residing here,
    Received a dole from year to year.

    Answer: Tichborne, Hants

  2. In 1650 a first Earl came
    To a saint in a village,
    And his house reflects the name.
    At the southern foot of a ‘born’ you chase,
    And will discover the very place.

    Answer: Wimborne St. Giles, Dorset

  3. Shrove and Ash and Adam Bede
    Gingerbread biscuits all give a lead,
    To the place where ancient football’s played
    And Dr Johnson often stayed.

    Answer: Ashbourne, Derbyshire

  4. Here Robert Mannyng came to life,
    Is this where Hereward started his strife?
    A man of fortune and great state,
    Definitely lays claim here to an early date.

    Answer: Bourne, Lincolnshire
