Steve (a.k.a. "Pyromancer" on the bulletin board) has a treat lined up for us at the National Trust's site at Avebury, near Marlborough in Wiltshire.
An opportunity to exercise the mind (a lot) and the legs (a little) on a day out to the World Heritage Site of Avebury in Wiltshire.
A cryptic treasure hunt is taking place on 17 September at this, the largest stone circle in Europe and will take in some of the surrounding prehistoric sites.
The key elements of the Indiana Jones movies are being used as the basis for the hunt:
If you have any interest in code cracking, megalithic monuments, pre-history, paganism or of course treasure hunting; you should enjoy this challenging day out.
The £30 per person includes: A cold buffet in the late afternoon/early evening, free parking for the day, free entry to the Alexander Keiller Museum and Barn Gallery plus presentations on the Archaeology of Avebury and the Geology of the Sarsen Stones, as well as the treasure hunt itself.
If you’d like to attend, you can book a place by PayPal below.
The flyer for the treasure hunt event is available here (1MB PDF) and challenges you to crack the runic code to reveal the title of the treasure hunt and the nature of the treasure itself. Feel free to distribute it to your family and friends!
Cracking this code will also put you in good stead for the hunt itself. If you want confirmation that you’ve cracked the code correctly just e-mail your solution to Contact(a)LiveActionFX.Com. Hope to see you in September.
