Competition No 15 - By Ann Hughes
FIND FOUR CATHEDRALS IN BRITAIN
- Through St. Ann’s Gate you will find,
A fine example of its kind,
The spire gives a clue for you to try,
A cathedral that soars high up to the sky.
ANSWER: Salisbury Cathedral
- The bell tower houses a peal of thirteen bells,
The largest to be found in the whole of Wales,
15th century damage by furore,
Was put to right by Jasper Tudor.
ANSWER: Llandaff Cathedral
- The dome which dominates being one of the best,
Has a crypt below where Wellington rests.
ANSWER: St Paul’s Cathedral, London
- On the 17th January Eighteen Sixty Six,
The proposal was made and plans were fixed.
Alexander Ross with great finesse,
Designed this Cathedral, set near the River Ness.
ANSWER: St Andrews Cathedral, Inverness
