Competition No 15 - By Ann Hughes

FIND FOUR CATHEDRALS IN BRITAIN
  1. Through St. Ann’s Gate you will find,
    A fine example of its kind,
    The spire gives a clue for you to try,
    A cathedral that soars high up to the sky.

    ANSWER: Salisbury Cathedral

  2. The bell tower houses a peal of thirteen bells,
    The largest to be found in the whole of Wales,
    15th century damage by furore,
    Was put to right by Jasper Tudor.

    ANSWER: Llandaff Cathedral

  3. The dome which dominates – being one of the best,
    Has a crypt below where Wellington rests.

    ANSWER: St Paul’s Cathedral, London

  4. On the 17th January Eighteen Sixty Six,
    The proposal was made and plans were fixed.
    Alexander Ross with great finesse,
    Designed this Cathedral, set near the River Ness.

    ANSWER: St Andrews Cathedral, Inverness
